Rumbo a Semis
Ayer me alegró verlo a Roger Federer celebrando los puntos y posteriormente su triunfo en la forma en que lo hizo. Un buen síntoma. Muestra que más allá de cómo esté su nivel tenístico, quiere seguir peleándola, vivir el tenis y cada torneo como cuando todo era color de rosa y las victorias llegaban casi solas. El Federer de los últimos tiempos distaba mucho de esto. Perdía los partidos en medio de una apatía total, no festejaba puntos buenos y se lamentaba por los malos, caminaba la cancha como indiferente, parecía estar esperando que las cosas vuelvan a ser como eran sin hacer nada por conseguirla, parecía estar esperando que la magia le vuelva sola. Más allá de lo que pase con él en este torneo, es saludable verlo con ganas otra vez, peleando partidos aún cuando le toque hacerlo con jugadores como Andreev. Y dicho sea de paso, estuvo muy bien el ruso, con todas sus limitaciones puso realmente en apuros al suizo. Creo que no quedan dudas de quién será el single número 2 de Rusia para esta semi de copa Davis.

El que está endemoniado es Andy Roddick. Ayer jugó un partido espectacular frente al pecho frío de Fernando González. Le ganó en todos los lugares de la cancha, jugó bordeando la perfección. Como lo veníamos diciendo desde aquí, se nota que Andy está enchufado y se siente bien, y cuando está funcionando en esa frecuencia, es imparable. Al estadounidense le tocó el lado del cuadro más complicado, si aspira a una final deberá vérselas con Djokovic, quien insisto no viene jugando bien, aunque viene ganando, y luego debería vérselas con Federer, quien es su karma, pero al menos encarará el partido sabiendo que en su último encuentro se sacó la espina y pudo ganarle. Lo veo muy bien a Roddick, le pongo fichas para que levante la copa.

Hay que saludar el trabajo hecho por Pico Mónaco y Máximo González! Semifinales de un Grand Slam, no para cualquiera. Seguramente quieran repetir lo que hicieron Horna-Cuevas en Roland Garros, aunque esta es más difícil, ya que del otro lado del cuadro vienen los Bryan, en su tierra y sobre cemento.
